This showpiece in the centre of Friedrichshain’s cutting-edge creative scene is now a masterwork itself. Grounded in earthy tones and welcoming colours, Sketch takes on an eclectic direction. The furniture is function-driven yet elegant and contemporary. Refined finishes, coupled with sculptural details and handpicked elements all contribute to Sketch’s modern ambience. Here, the geometric-shaped light fixture is echoed by black walls and closets, while intimate spaces are juxtaposed by a large courtyard - and all set beneath an industrial veneer. An interior defined by textiles, metal, and timeless design makes for a unique and inspiring city retreat.
From our Guests
This is one of the smoothest and easiest check-in experience I have ever had.
The Neighbourhood Friedrichshain
Located in the electric district of Friedrichshain, the neighbourhood is home to many of Berlin’s famous landmarks including techno clubs like Berghain, political murals at the East Side Gallery, a preserved section of the Berlin Wall and Soviet-era buildings on Karl-Marx-Allee. The artisan soaked streets are littered with cool cafés and antique theatres. Those who want to experience Berlin's nightlife should visit the Warschauer Bridge, where unusual venues host extraordinary clubs. Just a few minutes from Sketch there are two large Sunday flea markets at Boxhagener Platz and in the RAW area.
Where to eat
Berlin is a fantastic city to experience anything from simple vegan food to luxury gourmet restaurants. It is also full of hip bars and clubs that attract a trendy crowd, further securing its status as one of the coolest cities in Europe.
Edgy, cool, and creative, Berlin is one of Europe's best cities for independent designers and boutiques. It is also home to a host of vintage stores. For groceries, you can find plenty of eco-conscious food markets.
Parks are an integral part of the city's culture and often home to intriguing historical monuments, opportunities for outdoor activities, and quintessential German beer gardens.
Berlin is a monument of living history. The parts from East to West still show signs of the political, cultural, and physical divide that gives you an enchanting historical experience.
Designed with Intention
Sketch's interior takes on an eclectic direction, one out of four different routes of COSI interior design. The rooms and apartments are infused with the spirit and soul of Berlin. Sketch is the ultimate reflection of its surroundings, embracing the city’s urban renaissance and dynamic cultural scene.
Artists in residence
To celebrate the city’s vibrant art scene, the rooms in Sketch are embellished with custom commissioned abstract art pieces. Gestural and free-spirited brush strokes on porcelain white canvases line the perfectly black walls.
Apartments with kitchenettes
Majority of the apartments at Sketch have kitchenettes, allowing guests to cook their favourite meals away from home. Ideal for people who want a private space and extended stays.
