Madrid's authentic 18th century architectural past comes alive amid minimalistic touch, dark wood, polished finishes and hues of brown and white. The historical facade is embellished with wrought-iron balconies and geometric shapes. A tranquil ambience is created through ample of natural light and fine mid-century furniture. Cuento is a tale of history. The building has been reconstructed multiple times during the last three centuries with many architectural details have been kept from the 18th century. Although a modernisation inside the property, Cuento is in perfect harmony with existing historic elements.
From our Guests
Brilliant location near restaurants and cafes and close to the wonderful Retiro Park.
The Neighbourhood of Literary Quarter
Cuento is located in the famous Literary quarter, which was home to some of the most famous Spanish writers of the 17th century. This area is popular with tourists and locals alike, due to the numerous museums in its vicinity and a wide choice of restaurants, cafes, bars, chic bistros and small boutiques that line the streets of Huertas. Within a couple of minutes walking distance, you will find some of the oldest and most famous monuments of the city, such as the Museo Nacional del Prado, the Bank of Spain, the palace of the Cibeles and the Royal Palace of Madrid.
Where to eat
Madrid is a wonderful city to experience anything from tapas to inspiring fine dining venues. The city is full of restaurants and cafes, offering a plethora of unique experiences, further securing its status as one of the most lively cities in Europe.
Endless shopping opportunities await in Madrid. The city has the perfect retail therapy catered to individual likings. Head to Gran Vía for luxury boutiques or eclectic flea markets such as El Rastro for unique finds.
Parks are an integral part of the city's culture and often home to intriguing historical monuments and opportunities for outdoor activities. The park El Retiro is world-famous and on a sunny day, we can recommend to rent one of the small boats and on the lake.
Madrid hosts some world-class museums. One of our top picks is the art museum Reina Sofía housing Picasso's Guernica from the Spanish civil war in 1937.
Apartments with Kitchen
All the apartments are fitted with a fully-equipped kitchen, allowing guests to cook their favourite meals away from home—ideal for people who want a private space and extended stays.
Protected by the city for its architectural and historically significant, Cuento is a time-capsule of Madrid's architectural past. The ceilings of the apartments are lined with wooden beams, and the building's facade contains stone elements from centuries ago.
